Tunisia-Goulette : Abortion of a smuggling operation of a large quantity of drugs

NEWSROOM (ADV) – Customs control officers at the port of La Goulette in Tunisia managed to thwart a smuggling operation where they flushed a large amount of drugs hidden in microwaves, Sunday, February 10, 2019.

The devices were dismantled by the agents where they discovered bags containing various narcotic substances. A quantity of 2446 ecstasy tablets, 90 cannabis plates weighing about 9 kg and 470 grams of white powder presumed to be cocaine were seized by Customs.

The suspects declared that they undertook to deliver the goods to a resident in Tunisia whose identity they did not know.

The port customs officers drew up a report on the seizure of the quantities of narcotics and the public prosecutor authorized the referral of the suspects to the customs research department to carry out the necessary investigations.
