Miss Universe Zambia to address United Nations Youth Forum

Johannesburg, South Africa (ADV) – Miss Zambia Universe, Melba Shakaboza, is set to address the United Nations Youth Forum, at the United Nations (UN) headquarters in New York over the weekend, African Daily Voice has learnt.

According to media reports, Shakaboza will join other young female speakers including teenage Hollywood Actress, Sara Rowe from Grey’s Anatomy and Nickelodeon.

Going under the theme “VISION VOICES”, forum’s panel will bring together the voices of young women from across the globe to provide a perspective from around the world.

“I am totally honoured to have this opportunity of attending and speaking at a United Nations Meeting to raise the voices of young women around the world,” said Shakaboza.

Shakaboza won her place on the delegation as part of her Prize from the Justina Mutale Foundation, when she won the Miss Universe Zambia 2019 competition.

The panel will also look at the United Nations Commission on the Status of Women CSW63 priority theme of the year addressing “Social protection systems, access to public services and sustainable infrastructure for gender equality and the empowerment of women and girls”.

The Justina Mutale Foundation advocates for gender equality and the empowerment of women and girls by providing leadership training and mentorship.
