Civil Aviation Authority of Zimbabwe boss suspended

Johannesburg, South Africa (ADV) – Zimbabwean Transport and Infrastructural Development Minister, Joel Biggie Matiza, has with immediate effect confirmed the suspension of Civil Aviation Authority of Zimbabwe Chief Executive Officer, David Chawota.

“Yes we have suspended him, remember he is before the courts and we want those processes to be cleared first,” said Matiza.

On Thursday, The Herald reported that Chawota who is before the courts is facing charges of criminal abuse of office after he allegedly awarded a tender amounting to 27 900 000 euros to a Spanish company for the procurement of the country’s airspace management systems.
