Morocco launches inovative program to care for people with autism

NEWSROOM (ADV) – The Ministry of Family, launched in Rabat, a national program for the qualification of professionals with autism. It is a training program with a regional and strategic dimension, allowing different stakeholders to acquire new methods and techniques for better integrating people with autism into the society according to international standards and quality, local media reported.

The Minister of Family and Solidarity, Bassima Hakkaoui, noted that her department intends, through this program, to contribute effectively to improving the quality of services provided to this category, through national expertise specialized in the subject and training of supervisors and practitioners with a good knowledge of methods and techniques recognized at the national level in the field of integration of people with autism, noting that the International University of Rabat will be responsible for training 180 expert trainers referents.

Ms. Hakkaoui also indicated that the work of the 4th International Congress on Autism, held on April 29-30, 2014, recommended the inclusion of trainings in the field of autism.

This program, the first of its kind at the regional level, aims to improve the quality of care for people with autism.
