NEWSROOM (ADV) – The football championship resumed on Sagbado’s ground in the 3rd district of Bangui, after nearly 5 years of suspension following the violence in this sector of km5, considered as the red zone of the capital. A relief for the inhabitants of this area.

“Young people decided to make peace through football. They got up to clean the ground to resume life before the crisis, “said Ouanzi Kevin, secretary general of this sub-league.

The inhabitants of Makambo neighborhoods, Km5, Gbatouri, Kina, Cadastre and Cattin, have taken the atmosphere after several years of violence in this sector. Sports activity has been a determining factor in reliving it together after the tearing of the social fabric in the country.

This football field, yesterday battlefield, death row and which was totally deserted, hosts hundreds of people a day. Around this field, these spectators keep talking this time about peace, living together and how to contribute to bringing peace to the country, which has been stifling violence for several years.

According to ADV’s findings in this sector, residents are determined to bury the hatchet in order to live together. “We cannot wait for the government, more precisely the sport department to come and organize an under league for us. The Central African population must stand up to maintain the path of peace, instead of waiting for the government or international partners, “Kevin noted.

“The real revival of the atmosphere and social cohesion, without any beating, without the investment of any NGO, is proof that the Central African is for peace and easy to make peace,” said Oumarou, a supporter who came to watch the match.

Although all greet this initiative, others remain pessimistic. “As long as it lasts, provided the enemies of peace do not incite the bandits to create tension. We attach paramount importance to the return of peace in our country. But manipulators are also evolving in their strategies. We sincerely hope for this definitive return of peace, “said Angèle, a woman in her 40s, who also came to encourage players from her neighborhood.

On the evening of 18 January, two teams faced each other in the quarterfinal of the “Siriri na Yéngo Tere” Cup, in other words peace and living together.
