National Association of Chemical Engineering holds workshop in Eritrea

JOHANNESBURG, SOUTH AFRICA (ADV) –The National Association of Chemical Engineers has recently held its workshop, themed Role of Chemical Engineers in National Building Process in Eritrea.

The workshop was held in Asmara, the country’s capital. The association’s Chairman, Abraham Yohannes, said the field of chemical engineering becomes very important with the fast industrial development.

“Various institutions are playing significant role in producing chemical engineers both in quantity and quality,” he said.

The workshop was attended by heads of various institutions and chemical engineers. They all took part in an extensive discussion that was conducted on basic principles of chemical engineering, work experiences in the field of chemical engineering, process of conducting research and the requirements that should be addressed.

One of the people who attended the workshop, Asmara Mining Sh. Co manager, Edward Mounsey called on the National Association of Chemical Engineers to organise similar programmes with a bid to develop the understanding of its members.

He said he was impressed to observe the activities of various mining companies in Eritrea take notice on the environmental safety.

The National Association of Chemical Engineers was established in April last year. It is contributing its part in the development of industries and industrial products.
