NEWSROOM (ADV) – Sudanese police on Wednesday said that calmness has returned to all states of the country after a wave of popular protests in various areas against deteriorating economic conditions.

“The security situations are calm in all states,” Hashim Abdel-Rahim, Sudanese police spokesman, said in a statement.

“We have not received any reports about riot or protests on Wednesday,” he said, adding that “all states are witnessing complete calmness, including Khartoum, where police circles have not registered any events.”

President Omar al-Bashir had earlier this week called his fellow citizen to pay attention to foreign agents paid to destabilize the country and organize chaos.
