NEWSROOM (ADV) – A group of armed separatist forces was intercepted early Sunday as it tried to burn polling stations in Bafut, a locality in crisis-hit English-speaking region of Northwest as voting in the country’s presidential election begins, the Cameroon army said on Sunday.

“The soldiers are in pursuit of the fugitives,” the army said in a statement.

Three hunting rifles and two spray pumps full of gasoline to be used to burn the polling stations have been seized, the statement said.
