Johannesburg, South Africa (ADV) – The South African government recently hosted the Youth on the Move: Gateway to Opportunities aiming to create 250 000 job opportunities for young people over the next five years in Western Cape Province.

The Youth on the Move project is designed to be rolled out at a municipal level. It aims to connect young people looking for opportunities, with employers and organisations who are creating jobs and opportunities for young people.

“Too many young people in South Africa do not have access to opportunities,” said Member in the Executive Committee in the province, Beverly Schäfer.

“You need to walk  through that gateway and get that first job. Once you’ve got that first job, you’ve got the experience to put on your CV, which allows you to show that you’ve got skills.
