Casablanca, Morocco (ADV) – The Moroccan airline Royal Air Maroc has suspended the flights of the only Boeing 737 Max 8 in its fleet, a well-informed source told the Moroccan airline on Monday.
“The company has submitted its only Boeing 737 Max 8 aircraft to the technical control;” adding that “as a precaution, the flights of this aircraft have been suspended.”
According to the same source, this “will not affect the air traffic of the Moroccan company”.
This measure comes after the crash of an Ethiopian Airlines flight on Sunday, March 10 operated with a similar device. The plane crashed shortly after taking off from Addis Ababa, killing all 157 people on board.
Two Moroccan nationals were among the victims, according to Ethiopian Airlines.
