NEWSROOM (ADV) – Sudanese President Omar al-Bashir on Monday vowed to adopt economic reform measures that would provide decent living for the citizens, official SUNA news agency reported.
Al-Bashir made the remarks during a meeting Monday with the command of the National Intelligence and Security Service (NISS).
He praised the NISS’ efforts in keeping security and the safety of the people, besides its efforts in supporting the executive body to ensure the flow of commodities and services, it added.
He also called on the citizens not to listen to rumors and to be cautious over the Western guided attempts to create frustration.
Meanwhile, NISS Director General, Salah Abdalla Mohamed, affirmed the NISS’ support to its supreme commander, the report stated.
He asserted keenness of the intelligence and security service to live up to its constitutional tasks in keeping security and guaranteeing the citizens’ safety.
He assured his respect to the freedom of expression, warning that the vandalization of public properties, intimidation of citizens and infringement of their properties “is a red line.”
