NEWSROOM (ADV) – The ECA Office in North Africa, in partnership with the Ministry of Investment Development and International Cooperation (MDICI) organize the 33rd Meeting of the Intergovernmental Committee of Experts (CIE), from 30 October to 2 November 2018 in Tunis.
Organized under the theme: “Data Revolution in North Africa: Putting Data at the Service of Structural Transformation”, the 33rd Meeting of the CIE will be held in tandem with an ad hoc meeting of experts on the same theme, with the ambition of to examine the data ecosystem in North Africa.
This work will be an opportunity for experts and representatives of North African countries to discuss the needs of the region for the production of quality statistics, the protocols governing the production of data, analysis, confidentiality and information. Ethics in the region and the role of new technologies in the collection, analysis and sharing of information.
The Intergovernmental Committee of Experts will be held with the participation of high level representatives of the governments and national institutions of Algeria, Egypt, Libya, Morocco, Mauritania, Sudan and Tunisia, the General Secretariat of the Union Arab Maghreb (UMA) and other UN and inter-governmental organizations, civil society.
The recommendations of this meeting will be presented to the Conference of African Ministers of Finance, Planning and Economic Development of ECA in view of their implementation.
