Casablanca, Morocco (ADV) – Morocco will put a liquefied natural gas (LNG) project worth 4.6 billion U.S. dollars out to tender, Energy Minister Aziz Rabbah said Monday.
Speaking at the 11th Arab Energy Conference in the Moroccan city of Marrakech, Rabbah said the project involves building an onshore LNG terminal at Jorf Lasfar port near the coastal city of El Jadida.
A total of 7 billion cubic meters of gas is expected to be imported by 2025, he noted.
The minister also highlighted the structural changes and strategic orientations by Morocco in the energy sector through innovative projects.
