Casablanca, Morocco (ADV) – Sudanese President Omar al-Bashir on Monday vowed to actively tackle the economy of his country during the coming period.

At the economic level, the current government will adopt preferential policies and production, increase exports and control imports, said al-Bashir when addressing the Sudanese National Assembly, the parliament.

He said that the Presidency of the Republic would follow up the major development projects and provide them with the necessary requirements to ensure better use of the available resources.

The government will implement an emergency program, including projects of direct and quick returns, to achieve an attractive investment environment and prepare the draft budget for the fiscal 2019, with improving people’s livelihood as a top priority, he said.

He expressed confidence in the new government to play its expected role in overcoming the current economic crisis and achieving the aspirations of the people.
