Casablanca (ADV) – The head of Libya’s Higher Council of State on Sunday urged proper political and economic reforms.

The remarks were made by Khalid al-Meshri during his meeting with British Ambassador to Libya Frank Baker in the capital Tripoli.

According to a statement issued by the council’s information office, the meeting discussed political developments in Libya, the constitution referendum law, the upcoming elections and a package of economic reforms to soon be implemented.

Al-Meshri highlighted the necessity of “not linking the implementation of reforms to the elections” and the importance of “the economic reforms in parallel with the political reforms,” the statement said.
