Casablanca (ADV) – Accompanied by Rwandan first lady Jeannette Kagame, Chinese first lady Peng Liyuan visited a girls’ school in Kigali, in the context of the visit of Chinese President Xi Jinping to Rwanda.

Peng Liyuan, wife of Chinese President Xi Jinping, called for more educational exchanges between China and Rwanda following her visit to FAWE Girls’ School in Kigali. The first lady was warmly welcomed by Rwanda’s education minister, the school’s principal and other officials. Peng Liyuan watched students doing series and parallel circuit experiments, before attending a geography class where she was impressed by students’ knowledge of China’s national conditions.

The Chinese first lady donated a batch of education supplies to the school. She declared that education is the basis for a country’s development and people’s happiness. She hopes that all children, especially girls, can have access to a good education as well as equal rights.
