Casablanca (ADV) – Hundreds of people have seen their homes destroyed following heavy floods in north-eastern Nigeria’s Damaturu city on Tuesday.
According to Musa Jidawa, a senior official with the government’s emergency management agency, the floods were the city’s most devastating in 20 years.
Local media has reported that between 100 and 200 properties were destroyed, including homes and shops.
“We have gone round for first-hand information to determine areas of immediate needs and intervention,” Mr Jidawa stated.
